Actions are the building blocks of SparkInfluence and the way that your stakeholders interact with your advocacy efforts.
Actions range from sending emails to legislators, to posting a Tweet, to signing a petition, to commenting on a regulation, and more. Each action serves its own purpose, and we let you decide which action (or actions!) work best for your team’s goals. We give you the puzzle pieces, what the puzzle looks like is up to you.
In the Action area of the platform, click the green Create New Action button.
Now on the first step, provide a name for your action. (Note: This name is internal and only for your tracking purposes) Once given a name, select the type of action you’d like your stakeholders to take (e.g. Write your Legislator, Sign a Petition, Register for Email Updates, etc.). Follow the steps and prompts to complete the action creation for whichever Action Type you select (menus and required information vary by type).

Once you have completed all necessary steps, click Publish and your action will be active (and show up in the menu on the Action area landing page).
Please note that publishing an action does NOT mean that it is somehow viewable/accessible to your stakeholders. You will need to create a widget / embed a shortcode in order to embed the action on your website— see: Creating a widget.
